Au fil des livres - A Peek at my Bookshelves

Enfant, je n'étais pas plus portée sur les livres que les autres. J'ai eu la chance d'avoir une grand'mère institutrice qui m'avait aidée à apprendre à lire. Je maîtrisais correctement la lecture grâce aux abonnements à Pomme d'Api, puis J'aime lire. L'apprentissage de l'anglais au primaire a ajouté une difficulté, mais sans plus. Alors? Qu'est-ce qui m'a poussé dans le monde du livre? Quel a été le déclic?

In grade school, a teacher launched a read-a-thon in English. I remember a student handing in his sheet at the end of the month, completely filled out. I had just finished my only book, Charlotte's Web, and even as I wrote down the title, the pencil lead snapped and tore the sheet. I handed in a sorry piece of paper which didn't merit a second glance. At the age of 11, with that memory still a painful one, I decided that I would honour my readings and write down every title I would ever read. As of February 21, 2021, I'm up to 2156 titles.

Je catalogue tous mes livres dans LibraryThing et le plus souvent j'y ajoute une courte critique. Ce que je propose ici c'est de vous donner une vision plus personnelle des livres que je lis. Chaque lecteur a une relation spéciale avec chaque livre : ses choix, ses goûts, ses réactions s'inscrivent dans un contexte personnel que je propose partager avec vous.
